The Bark River Colonial Patch Knife is a re-creation of the Small Knives carried by folks who used Flintlock and Percussion Guns with Patch & Ball. The knife was used to trim the patch after the ball & patch were seated into the end of the Muzzle of the Rifle or Musket. This type of knife was usually carried in the Possibles Bag and evolved into a small General Purpose Utility knife that ultimately was also used for general Small Tasks in addition to trimming the Patch. 12C27 sandvik stainless steel blade. Full tang. Beautiful Buckeye Burl Wood handle scales. Jimping on the spine. Brand new in box with original leather sheath. Long since discontinued by Bark River Knives.
