The 565-1 Mini Freek is an upgraded, premium version of the fan favorite model in the Freek family. A stellar, smaller sized, manual opening everyday carry knife. This variant is built for both form and function. Comfortable milled carbon fiber handle scales look great and trim some extra weight from the base model Mini Freek. Stonewash finished CPM-S90V premium stainless steel blade. True red anodized barrel spacers and thumb studs. Reversible tip up carry carry pocket clip, dual thumb studs, and axis lock make this knife totally ambidextrous. Lanyard hole. Black finished hardware and pocket clip. Brand new in box.

Up$cale Mini Freek with the yesteryears pocket clip. Same ol pocket clip on my 10+ year old Benchmade Bone Collectors. Functional yes, up$cale no. The Mini Freek handle shape is decent for my large hand. The finger choil isn't too pronounced and the 45 degree angle tail gives my pinky finger a better feel where as my up$cale Mini Griptilian has a rounded tail and my pinky finger rolls over and is not part of gripping the handle. The carbon fiber is beautiful and has an OK amount of stiction when grasping. Similar to G10 feel and better than aluminum & steel scales in my opinion. The pivot was too tight for my liking upon arrival thus I adjusted and used Loctite on the screw threads. Otherwise, the open/close action with the thumb stud/axis lock are spot on ergonomically and the blade is typical Benchmade great; sharp, firm and centered. In terms of weight/usage/function. For me, Up$cale Mini Freek is an EDC type that I'll carry to work and out socializing where it'll get periodic convenience usage. My Benchmade Mini Bone Collector on the other hand is a fraction larger, heavier and the one I’d rather carry while I'm working in the garage, out camping, riding on road and offroad motorcycles where duty may be dirty and beautiful will get blemished. Up$cale Mini Freek gets 4 stars for lack of upscale / up revision pocket clip.
