Civivi Stormhowl
First things first, shipping was Johnny on the spot, 3 days from order to mailbox! This is my first Civivi knife, and so far I have to say I'm impressed. The fit and finish are great. There is zero blade play in any direction when open. The blade is centered nicely when closed. The action is incredibly smooth both opening, with either wrist flick or the perfectly sized(in my opinion, of course) flipper, and closing. The button lock is easy to press, but not overly so. The button lock itself is nicely recessed, so the chances of accidentally depressing it are what I would almost call zero. The Damascus pattern is beautiful, the photos on the site honestly don't do it justice. The handle scales are nicely done. Not too smooth, but also not so overly aggressive as to be uncomfortable. The factory edge is SUPERBLY sharp. The geometry behind the edge is thin enough to slice nicely, but not so thin I'm afraid to actually cut with it. The high flat grind means I'll be able to maintain the edge for a long time, without the metal behind the cutting edge becoming too thick too fast. That being said, if you need a pocket knife for hard use, I wouldn't say this is the right knife for that with the blade not being very thick overall. I do use this knife daily at work for fairly light tasks such as cutting shrink wrap from around pallets, plastic pallet strapping, and cardboard, so we shall see how well it holds up to those tasks. Overall so far I'm incredibly happy with the Stormhowl after a week and half in my pocket.
