Microtech Socom Elite Tan Stonewash Auto
Microtech Socom Elite original was born 1996, the pioneer of the entire Microtech folding knife line. Microtech Elite Auto handle is uniform and symmetrical, which I prefer, compared to my Socom Elite manual based on an asymmetrical aluminum back side handle scale due to the replaceable lock bar insert which limits grip tape application vs presentation symmetrical handle scale. Microtech Socom Elite Auto fires hard and consistent like a Pro-Tech Rockeye (fantastic knife). Microtech Socom Elite, tip down carry position does not affect proficient knife handling folks. Extremely doubtful a Socom Elite will accidently open in your garment pocket. Socom Elite pocket clip, pivot and knurled deploy button are well designed by Anthony L Marfione CEO, President and founder of Microtech, MCK and MDI. Appearance fit and finish on the Socom Elite is spectacular, on par with my Microtech Socom Bravo, a collaboration with Rike Knives. Microtech Socom Elite factory edge is symmetrical, uniform, very sharp and centered out of the box. The grip tape (3M product) is perfect for hands or gloves, ample grip in any position. The Socom Elite small glass breaker is well designed and does not detract from the streamlined appearance. Socom Elite aluminum body screw heads are T-6, pocket clip screw heads are T-8, and the pivot screw heads (both) T-20. Microtech Socom Elite Tan anodizing type III “hardcoat” using sulfuric acid or mixed chemistry electrolytes is beautiful. Socom Elite in this review: Born date is 03/2024 S/N 11942 on the beautiful stonewashed Böhler M390 blade. AEK is beyond spectacular for customer service and product selection for all budgets. Recognition for Brittney AEK office management and extremely efficient shipping includes a handwritten note for each of my eight AEK orders in the past two months. Jordan and LeNeigh are hands on AEK owners, great communication from initial order to follow-up emails if required.
