Description
Microtech Ultratech Warhound Merlot Handle Black Standard Blade Signature Series 119W-1MRS
The Ultratech from Microtech is one of their most popular models, it definately provides the most bang for the buck. It will forever set the standard for all out the front knives. The Ultratech is Microtech's original double action out the front knife, and has been the foundation of their entire OTF line. Over the years, it has gone through several modifications, each time becoming more efficient and reliable. The Ultratech's spring remains in an "at rest" position at all times except when deployed. This ensures that the compressed spring will not become fatigued, assuring users that when the knife is fired, it will operate effectively. The Ultratech's lightweight, one handed open and close action, slim shape, and scalpel sharp blade make it a one of a kind knife!
This signature series model features merlot anodized 6061-T6 aluminum sterile handle scales. Black finished M390 stainless steel "Warhound" wharncliffe blade. Black finished hardware, reversible deep engraved pocket clip, lanyard hole, and glass breaker. The clip features the Claw logo, Sean Marfione signature, serial number, and production date. Brand new in box.

Beautiful, useful Ultratech
This is a beautiful knife. The merlot color is one of the best Microtech offers for my taste. The Warhound blade looks amazing and is up there with the traditional drop point for usefulness and practicality. I'd forego the holes in the blade if I had my say, since they serve no functional purpose and could accumulate junk to draw back into the mechanism. But they make the blade look cool! The straight edge on the Warhound makes it easier to sharpen and maintain than any curved or tanto blade shape. The pointed tip gives it the piercing ability of a dagger while the single edge gives it the practicality for everyday use of a drop point. Microtech calls it a Wharncliffe. While not exactly a traditional Wharncliffe, it does have the same general shape and usefulness of that blade type. Some jobs would be better served by a drop point. (eg. slicing tomatoes. But why would anybody be slicing tomatoes with an Ultratech?) Since I can't decide which I like better between the Warhound and drop point, I have matching Ultratechs in both blade types! American Edge is a top notch place to buy knives online. They have a good selection, the web site is well designed for finding what you're looking for, ordering is easy and straightforward, and shipping has been speedy for the four different orders I've made. Customer service by phone is first class too. I'll be a repeat customer in the future.
