Pro-Tech TR-5 Auto Solid Black Handle Stonewash Blade T501
Pro-Tech has added the TR-5 to the Tactical Response lineup. It is basically a scaled down pocket friendly version of the TR-4 with the same hard hitting automatic action. Stainless steel glass breaker and lanyard loop. Jimping on the spine. Deep carry pocket clip for discreet tip up carry. The steel has also been upgraded to CPM-S35VN which was a nice surprise. A fantastic knife and possibly our new favorite knife in the Protech lineup.
This model features solid black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle scales. Stonewash finished CPM-S35VN stainless steel drop point blade. Bead blast finished hardware. Black DLC finished tip up deep carry pocket clip. Two tone finished lanyard loop and glass breaker. Brand new in box.

Very impressed with the quality of this knife, right out of the box the knife is extremely sharp. I would say that this knife is the right size to carry in ones front pants pocket, not to big or to small, and has a great feel in your hands. All of the other reviews are spot on about this knife, you can't go wrong with this knife in your pocket. The staff was also very helpful with ordering this knife and shipping was very fast too.

TR5 PRO-TECH AUTO
I would recommend this knife to anyone for an EDC. I bought the Newport first, abandoned it was a bit small in my hand. If you want an aggressive knife, that kicks that a PRO-TECH should, this is the knife for you. Sharp, s35vn steel , holds a great edge. Its a no need to self sharpen knife. I think they say 2 times a year? Don't quote me on that but it's an incredible knife!!!

Sharp and Snappy
It’s a great knife. Very sharp out of the box and very quick to open. It’s a little light for my liking honestly and I thought I would like that, however not so much. I purchased a Kershaw Link with CPM 20 CV Steel and I prefer it over the ProTech. The Kershaw is a bit heavier, but it is just as snappy for a folding knife. I find myself picking up the kershaw and leaving the Pro-Tech on the shelf. Im still glad I bought it.

So I wanted a really good EDC knife and looked at a lot of different ones but kept going back to this one. After receiving it I know I made a great choice! I was concerned that this one might be a hair to big for an EDC but I was wrong. It is a little bit smaller than I thought it would be, making it perfect! It is very high quality and the blade snaps out beautifully. It is very sharp out of the box and the deep pocket clip is perfect too. I needed a safety on my knife cause I ride motorcycles and things and my legs are in many different positions so I do not want a knife to deploy in my pocket! This knife is perfect in every way and American Edge was perfect in all ways on this order!
