Alec Wachtman has been intrigued with blacksmithing since he was about 6 years old. After being exposed to the art via Boy Scouts, he took it upon himself to begin watching YouTube videos, buying a forge at age 13, and began experimenting. After a few years, his mother connected him with John King who helped him with an apprenticeship. After awhile, he met Tom Mohr and his father, Rick, After Alec sketched every style of knife that caught his eye, Tom talked to him about intended purpose in knife design. Time went on, and the YouTube videos continued to teach Alec. He ended up purchasing a belt grinder and has since, honed in on his skills. Alec sold his first blade at 15 years old and began his company in 2019 at age 18. He continues his work in an effort to bring consumers some of the most dependable and useful blades around by sourcing premium materials from small, artisan level, USA based businesses.
